Sunshine

May 12th, 2008 by admin

The weather has been excellent here in Devon and the beach side cafe (where I hang out during the summer) has invested in a proper coffee maker, oh I just love the summer!

My good friend and fiendishly clever magician, Chris Congreave, has come up with some superb presentations for the card to wallet plot combined it with the pickpocket plot, this guy is just so clever. I’m trying to get Chris to release some of these routines, watch this space.

“Thoughts and More” will be distributed through www.markbendellmagic.co.uk shortly, please check back soon for more details.

Duality and Out of Sight, Out of Your Mind can be purchased directly from www.topsecretmagic.co.uk I believe they now have large stocks of both effects.

If any magicians have any ideas they would like to share or would like to get published, please drop me an email.

I’ve been asked if I teach magic, this is something I have considered but as yet not had the time to do, maybe one day!

Duality Sold Out

April 29th, 2008 by admin

All stocks of Duality have now been sold, you can still purchase this effect from www.topsecretmagic.co.uk. I will be re-stocking this effect again shortly.

I’ve just had word from the publishers regarding Thoughts, Mark Bendell has added a couple of excellent subtleties to this and they will be included in the booklet. This project is getting bigger by the day as more effects and ideas are being added.

Top UK magician Christopher Williams has agreed to help me in compiling effects for the Sandwich Book, Chris will also edit this huge project. If you have an effect or an idea on this plot and you would like it to be included, please contact me.

The Magic Cafe

April 4th, 2008 by admin

Chris Congreave and myself had a blast at Scarborough, we eventually got back to our hotel about 3am after a night of lecturing, eating fine food and drinking plenty of the local delicacy (Stella Artois) :-)

Below was taken from the magic forum The Magic Cafe

Hello all,

The only effect that Gary has that is worth looking at is the nun trick! I will use this all the time, forget about anything he does with cards & coins, as they are a complete waste of time!

ONLY JOKING

Thanks for a great lecture, on Tuesday, Gary. Anyone who doesn’t get Gary to lecture is missing out. As Chris says above, Gary’s “Card To Pocket” routine is up there with Ramsay’s routine. Gary caught me out badly, while we were having dinner, with a sandwich effect where the ’sandwich cards’ disappear from plain view and trap the selection (excellent). Remember, I have my name on the first copy of your sandwich routine book!

Gary’s use of misdirection is also worthy of Ramsay, but unlike his illustrious (check out my spelling!) predecessor, his material is aimed at fooling the most important people - laymen.

We have had most of the biggest names lecture at our society, but few have been as well received as Gary.

Hope you had a trouble free journey back home and please let me know when Chris manages to land ‘instant replay’ successfully for the first time!!!

All the best,
Alan
